The Chinese have made use of constellations of more than 3000 years for the purpose of astrology. In Chinese astrology Ox and rat comes after this year, 2009 is the year of the ox of the Earth. When China began astrology names 10 Celestial Stems and 12 Earthly Branches, mainly for distinguishing chronological time and season.

For example, a snake is yin, while a dragon is Yang. We are currently in a cycle of 60 years beginning in 1984 and all levels of astrology Chinese starting with "wood rat" and end with "water pig."
In Chinese astrology, the ox, is very similar in nature to rat and is the second sign of the zodiac. The Year of the Ox means constant or slow construction, insurance action. There are long-term consequences for the decisions you make in the Year of the Ox, to make good decisions must be made. Unfortunately 2009 is a year Ox land and water is the dominant component of Ox. This creates a conflict, and indeed of the past six years China's four have had conflicting signs of element, this tends to be destructive and Chinese astrologers believe this is why the land has been the hype over the past 6 years.
