Bonsai trees have always held a fascination for me. The first time I saw a considerable collection of many varieties of species was at Longwood Gardens in Brandywine Valley in Pennsylvania. There was a whole roomful of them with labels of what they are and how old they were. "I could not believe that a tiny tree could be more than 100 years and not more than 2 feet high. There also bonsai forests, trees grouped with stones covered with moss. I tried to imagine how small, should be to see how full size. I `d have to be about 2 or 3 inches tall, a mini me. But what impressed me most were the strange and unusual shapes of these cultivated trees. Were more than exotic plants, in fact they were as sculptors. There was something to see from any angle of the tree. All were potted in ceramic pots worthy of the artistic beauty of the trees themselves.
So I wonder about bonsai, The origin of this culture process, longevity, and how many types of trees can be trained into a bonsai. What I discovered is that this type of culture began in China more than a thousand years ago and the techniques were rudimentary at that time until it became so popular in Japan.
He was taken to a new level becoming an art form that also incorporates its philosophy of harmony between man, the soul, and nature. There `s also an ancient Japanese scroll which reads: "To appreciate and find pleasure in curiously curved potted trees is to love" deformity. perfection was not at all the desired end result. The this valuable time horticulturists dwarf trees had been twisted both knarled formations in the area of its trunk and branches. The best "knarling" 'I I've seen by far, were in the redwood bonsai. This type of tree is most popular in the Bay Area of California, the region of the giant redwoods.
It is also interesting to note that in antiquity, the practice of cultivating bonsai was reserved for the upper class in Japan `s Kamakura period and became an art form very refined. Bonsai were displayed especially in the interior
occasions by the Japanese elite. Were shown either artistically skilled craftsmen of ceramics handmade planters strategically placed on the shelves or special design. He later became the outdoor grow more popular over the months warm.
Over time many more species became farmed, and artists began to integrate their bonsai plantings with rocks, plants, accent, and even mini buildings and people. In the mid-world travelers of the 19th century discovered these wonders and its popularity spread even to other countries. He started the exposures London, Vienna and Paris. And today there `s even an arboretum international bonsai exhibitions and bonsai in most of the
the largest botanical gardens in many states and countries.
Many people who are of garden and plant enthusiasts (including me) to have a range of colorful flowers and trees perennial flowers and shrubs attractive as part of their landscape design. Indoor plants bring to our attention because they are part of the environment of our living space. That said, farmers believe that the bonsai have passionate and caring for a bonsai is a personal experience, one that also brings the satisfaction of sharing this interest with others. This evidenced by symposia and events geared to the display of the most beautiful bonsai growers.
Since they are now very low, which we as fans can simply choose one or more species to bring to our homes. There are so many varieties to choose from now too. There `s some family members evergreen, very sculptural looking like Juniper, Blue Spruce, and the magnificent Hinoki cypress with its deep rich greens. The there `s the braid Mimosa bonsai with its branches that look delicate and lacy to them. And of course there `s amazing the variety of flowers such as cherry, Winter White Jasmine, and Gardenia bloom with flowers that will fill your home with heavenly fragrance. Most of the suppliers of those grown with love and care of trees will provide complete care instructions for each species you choose to have. Remember, they `re not only for house plants generics, which are more like art of the plant. Thus enjoying the view of having one at home.
